HGI is very pleased to have been selected by the Department of Natural Resources of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to undertake a study to examine forest industry competitiveness and to recommend a forest sector strategy for the island portion of the Province.
Led by Partner Peter Milley, the HGI team brings together a group of senior consulting professionals with a sector-focused combination of expertise to address this objectives of this strategy development assignment. Four members of this HGI team are native Newfoundlanders and most team members bring significant understanding of the Newfoundland forest industry context to the project, having worked together to complete the study of wood products manufacturing opportunities in Labrador. As well, most members of the team have previously worked together on other forest products industry projects.
Additional information about the project is provided in the news release from the Hon. Kathy Dunderdale, Minister of Natural Resources which is attached to this announcement. The project is expected to be completed during the summer or early Fall of 2007.
